This beautiful Saturday at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue it was Matt C, Matt
R,
Danielle G, Eric A... and best of all...guitarist and singer Midge P
playing
her original protest anthems!! Joe "Tricky Dick" H. would like to make
one
thing perfectly clear...he will be back next week.

Many of our other colleagues attended the anti-nuke-war rally in
Lafayette
Park that same morning, the 60th anniversary of the destruction of
Hiroshima.
Our weekly White House protest gets more international each week, and
our
tactics change and improve.
Now we just lay our couple dozen placards out on the ground where
tourists can
pick up the ones they want for their photos. This way several photo
sessions
can be going on at once. And there are always blank placards and pens
for
those willing to make a neatly lettered and clever one for us. One photo
that
is increasingly popular is a shot of all the placards in a dozen
languages and
colors arranged on the pavement.
The damn thing just runs itself now. I estimate several hundred photos
are
taken of tourists holding our protest placards with the White House in
the
background every single saturday...photos carry our protest message
around the
planet.
I love our new German placard "RASIER DEINER BUSH" ( Shave the Bush! ).
Our Arabic placard is toned down a little and says simply:
"No Peace is No Life".
I still don't know what the Russian placard says, but when the
Muscovites see
it they start to chuckle and won't stop clicking pics until everyone has
one.
Some Polish grandmothers were at first indignant at our Polish placard.
I
think it means something naughty! I don't read Polish! The Grammas'
indignation soon gave way to schoolgirl giggling while they ALL posed
with the
placard.
The Italian placard says "BUSH IN GALERA", Alexis...is this OK or can ya
come
up with something better? That's "Bush In Jail", right?
We can now offer White House Protest photo ops in English, French,
Spanish,
Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Finnish, Persian, Arabic, Chinese, Korean,
and
Italian. The Chinese and Korean signs have a dot in one corner so we
know
which side is up.
Every saturday, at least one or two idiots will try to stir up trouble:
Some Israelis came by and gave us a real hard time, but we gave it back
much
harder. We have heard it all before, and are always prepared to debate.
While
I love the jewish people in general, I think most of us Americans can
agree
it's time to get the Israelis out of our government. Time to stop
fighting
wars for Israel, and time to stop bankrolling Israeli aggression. It
seems
that the intelligence community and even the justice department is
getting the
message...witness the long-awaited indictments of Israeli spies Keith
Weissman
and Steven Rosen last week.
The Likudites informed me that I was a Nazi. Any criticism of Likud
government
policy makes you a Nazi, didn't you know? It doesn't matter how many of
your
relatives bit the dust for the allies in 1945.
It's a shame because one Israeli family invited me to lunch in Lafayette
Park
a month ago. Wonderful folks.
One lardazz Texas beeyotch-in-boots inexplicably dropped a dollar at my
feet,
then grabbed my "BUCK FUSH" sign and tore it in half. I ratted her out
to the
Secret Service who took her to the woodshed. The dollar sat at my feet
for a
while then the wind blew it away, damned if I was going to touch it.
Bush fans
are such idiots.
Six days a week I search for software engineering work in a Bush economy
has
given me the choice of
1) selling out my principles and working for the military-industrial
complex...or
2) fighting for the leftover scraps with the hundreds of thousands of
H1B
engineers he lets in to make sure my wage is a quarter of what it used
to be,
should I be lucky enough to land a job. And never having any idea what
my FBI
( or Mossad ) file is saying about me.
One day out of the week I come out to the White House to complain about
this
disastrous war that is nothing more than a scam to further concentrate
wealth
and power in the hands of Bush's buddies.
YOU should come out and complain too. See everyone there next
Saturday...every
Saturday until the last American soldier comes home.
